Good buy. Modestly priced for modest, totally adequate accomodations. Friendly service and a VERY good Aussie meal. As a American I appreciate the wholesome quality of good, Australian meals: simple, made with fresh products and some of the best meats in the world. In my opinion Australian cooking is more than just meat pies and sausage rolls. It's about wonderfully fresh garden vegetables, delicious beef, lamb, pork and paultry, lovely fruits, etc. The best thing about an Australian meal is it's simplicity combined with supurb quality. I had a serve of fish fried in beer batter, a garden salad and mashed potatoes. My partner had lamb shank, mashed potatoes and vegetables. Both meals were as Aussie as Kangourous. Both deserved to be included in any international recepie book as examples of the Australian contribution to the cuilinary arts. Yes, all this at a modest stopover place in the very chic - but not better- Barossa Wine Valley..
