I am a Chinese student studying the Australian wine business at University of Adelaide, so Waynes Barossa Valley tour was interesting and educational for me. He grows grapes and makes great wines. He has much knowledge of the history of the Barossa. He is funny too and he made the day so much fun. His lunch was amazing too. I hope to return soon and bring my friends. The Barossa Valley is so beautiful and the staff at the wineries very friendly.
Wayne is an experienced and likeable host who runs his tour business with passion and pride. My husband and I spent two separate days with him covering the McLaren Vale and the Barossa Valley. The McLaren Vale day was meant to be a small group tour but it turned out there were no others booked on so we were lucky to have a private tour for the lower price. We had always intended for the Barossa Valley tour to be a private one and this occurred as planned.Whilst the Barossa is his home turf; his knowledge of the McLaren Vale is equally as good. He is professional and hospitable and we were privileged to enjoy his cooking from soup and a prepared platter with home made chutneys and mayonnaise to a BBQ at his own winery. We found Wayne to be responsive to emails and enquiries right from the get go. He treats everyone with warmth and really does try his best and his best was very much appreciated by us.
We could not have enjoyed a MORE PERFECT tour of the Barossa Valley's finest, as a celebration of our 20th Wedding Anniversary! Wayne was the consummate professional, driving us from one amazing cellar door to another. I was impressed by his selection of both the bigger and smaller artisan wine producers, that he personalised through his understanding of the types of wines we enjoy most. Wayne's friendly and charming manner, along with his extensive knowledge of the history of the region, made for an entertaining experience. He is also a successful winemaker (Roenfeldt Hill Vineyard) and we learnt so much about the growing and production of wine. We loved his wine and cheese and metwurst board along the way...to top off a fabulous day, Wayne cooked us a superb lunch at his vineyard. I highly recommend a tour with Wayne. We ended the day as friends and with a number of cases of superb wine (including many from Roenfeldt Hill) to ship home to Brisbane. Thank you so much for the BEST DAY EVER!
The Best Wine Tour Ever!!We felt very special and welcomed. Wayne drove us around beautiful Barossa Valley and shared his expansive knowledge of the region, the history and wine making process. During 1 day, we managed to visit 8 wineries, were treated to delicious cheese board while enjoying the views and ended the day with an amazing dinner freshly cooked by Wayne himself and served with a glass of his own wine at his own Roenfeldt Hill vineyard.Superb experience, we highly recommend to all wine lovers!
We LOVED this winery tour! It is so individualised and definitely doesn't scrimp on the number of wine stops and things to see in the Barossa. Wayne, the host is so knowledgable about the Barossa Valley and it is such a nice and rustic touch having a beautiful home cooked lunch and trying his fantastic wines in the middle of the day. We went on the tour in 2016 and then we took our friends back in 2018 and they loved it! We will definitely be booking another tour with Wayne in the near future!
